I’m not going to lie. Tonight I can’t wait to be done with this book! I want to “kill the monster and fling him to the public,” as Churchill put it.
I wanted to write a great book, but no matter how much I try it feels more mediocre than great, and maybe that’s what the first book has to be to get to the next one. All those great first books out there, maybe they had great editors or those writers were just more talented than I am. All I know is that I’m tired of trying and wrestling and wondering and delaying. I just want to be done and work on something else. And so I’m glad that next week I’m doing the Writers Digest query letter and synopsis boot camp.
I’m ready to fling…and move on to the next thing.
