A film based on a book, accompanied by a live symphony. That’s what’s on the writerly agenda this evening…a whole lot of filling the artistic well!

Each year now the San Francisco Symphony presents a Film Series, in which the Symphony plays live to different featured films. Tonight they will accompany the Oscar-winning, and one of my favorite movies, “The Godfather,” which is based on Mario Puzo’s 1969 novel of the same name. Music, visual arts, a beautiful symphony hall, the energy of San Francisco…can the artist be any more stimulated? Actually yes, as there will first be dinner at my favorite Scandinavian restaurant, Plaj…and good food is an art which feeds both the body and soul.

Of course, lots of play must often be prefaced by lots of work. As such, preparing to head out into the dark winter morning and to the office.
